Syracuse basketball was great on offense but defense won game against Florida State

It would be easy to think that Syracuse’s offense was the key to the Orange’s win over Florida State.

After all, the Orange hit an offensive high note in the 85-72 win over Florida State on Thursday night at the Carrier Dome.

The 85 points were the most for Syracuse against an ACC opponent in a regulation game since joining the conference three years ago. Syracuse hadn’t scored as many as 85 points in a regulation game since its 89-42 win over Kennesaw State in last year’s season-opener.
