MI officer dodges bullets during traffic stop (VIDEO)

It wasn’t “The Matrix” and although Officer Brad Gentry is no Keanu Reeves, he sure has moves like Neo, with dash cam footage to back up that claim.

Gentry was initiating a traffic stop in Battle Creek, Michigan, Saturday afternoon when he approached the car and said, “What’s up, man” to the driver, 21-year-old Darriyon Zamone Clark-Brown. Almost instantaneously, Clark-Brown opens fire on the officer, narrowly missing him as Gentry leans back to avoid being shot. Clark-Brown then sped away, as Gentry returned fire.

Following a brief pursuit which involved several more officers, Clark-Brown attempted to hide out as his mother’s home and became involved in an hours-long standoff with the police. Eventually, Clark-Brown was taken into custody after being bitten by a K-9.

Authorities say they are still unsure why Clark-Brown shot at Gentry, who other than being temporarily deafened, was otherwise okay.

Maj. Jim Grafton, with the Battle Creek Police Department called the incident “a safe resolution after a very deadly situation.“

Astoria crime spree: Suspect James Patrick Dillon shot, 2 officers hurt in melee, cops say

Two Critical Response Command officers were injured and a suspect was shot after the man apparently went on a spree in Astoria on Sunday, killing one man inside a liquor store, police said.

The melee started when officers cornered James Patrick Dillon, 23, at about 5:40 p.m. near 36th Street, between 28th Avenue and Astoria Boulevard.

A total of seven shots were fired in the backyard of the home Dillon shares with his parents, police said.

During the exchange, the two officers, a lieutenant and inspector, were burned from a chemical accelerant contained in a Corona bottle, which was thrown in their faces, burning their hands, police said.

“This has been a very unusual day here in Astoria,” said Assistant Chief Diana Pizzuti, commanding officer of the patrol borough of Queens North, speaking outside the 114th Precinct on Sunday. “There was quite the manhunt to find the suspect.”

Investigators tested the substance, but were not immediately able to determine what it was, said Deputy Chief John Essig.

Dillon, who lives on 36th Street and was accused of going on a crime spree in the family-friendly neighborhood on Sunday, was shot several times during the incident.

Police had been looking for Dillon, who was suspected to have slashed two people, one fatally, and burned another earlier in the day.

His family indicated that Dillon had not been taking his medicine lately, Essig said.

In the first attack at about 11:30 a.m., a 39-year-old woman was slashed in the face and neck on 36th Street, near 28th Avenue, police said. Dillon and the woman were neighbors, police said.

Just after 3 p.m., Dillon allegedly struck again, fatally stabbing George Patouhas, the 55-year-old owner of an Astoria Boulevard liquor store. Patouhas had intervened after Dillon started an argument with a man sitting in a chair, Essig said.

2 NYPD Officers Injured Chasing Down Suspect in Violent Astoria Crime Spree

Police say a man on a rampage killed one and injured several others, including two NYPD officers. The suspect was eventually arrested during a standoff with cops, some of it caught on camera. NY1’s Lori Chung filed the following report.

Gunshots sent officers scrambling in Astoria on Sunday evening as police moved in to take a suspected killer into custody and end a violent rampage that left one man dead.

“It’s really scary,” said one eyewitness who saw the suspect being taken away in an ambulance.

Police say James Dillon slashed a woman in the face outside his 39th Street home around 11:30 a.m. Nearly four hours later, he allegedly attacked a 61-year-old man at a liquor store on Astoria Boulevard when the owner tried to help.

“The owner of the liquor store attempted to intervene, tried to push him out of the store and at that point that was when the owner of the liquor was stabbed,” NYPD Deputy Chief John Essig said.

The wound was fatal for 55-year-old George Patouhas, who later died at Mt. Sinai Hospital, according to police. After the stabbing, police say Dillon then tried to set both men on fire.

“Steps out of the store and throws accelerant back into the store onto both males and attempted to light it on fire, which he did,” Essig said.

The surviving victim suffered severe burns before the suspect took off again.

Police say they caught up to Dillon after a woman reported that a man was trying to break into her 36th Street apartment.

Family Claims St. Louis Police Pointed Guns At Kids

Carrying baby dolls and chanting “Black babies matter!”, “His name is Ethan!” and “No justice, no peace!”,  about 50 protesters descended on the St. Louis City Police Headquarters Monday evening.

They were there to voice their anger over an alleged incident that took place Sunday night in South City.

The Reverend Melissa Bennett was not in the car, but is a member of the family that was pulled over. She says they were pulled over for no reason other than possible eye contact with a passing officer.

The two white officers pulled over the vehicle at a Family Dollar store at Chippewa and Jefferson. The officers approached with guns drawn, according to Bennett.

“They verbally assaulted the two-year-old as well as pointing guns at the two-year-old and a five-month-old girl that was in the car,” she claims.

Sylvia Woods also was not in the car at the time, but says her 2-year-old grandson Ethan remains extremely frightened and troubled by the incident.

“This officer told my grandson, two-years-old, ‘shut up, sit back and be quiet’, sir,” Woods says. “He’s not understanding any of this. ‘What did I do grandmama? A gun!’.”
