‘We don’t want to die’ – Ryanair apologise for cabin crew member’s ‘regrettable comment’

A representative for Ryanair told Independent.ie that the company “will be speaking to the crew member involved and apologise for the regrettable comment she made in the heat of the moment”.

 

Passenger Ella Ryan posted the short clip on Facebook where it has been viewed over 16,000 times in 17 hours.

 

The video appears to have since been deleted. from Facebook, but it had been republished widely on YouTube and other video sharing websites.

Ryan was on a flight from Glasgow to Dublin which had allegedly been delayed “almost eight hours”.

Passengers were audibly shocked when a Ryanair crew member gave a very frank and extremely over-the-top assessment of why a Glasgow-to-Dublin flight had been delayed for eight hours.

Instead of trying to placate the discount airline’s restless customers about their long delay, the female member of staff said: “The captain cannot take off when we have ice on the wings – we don’t want to die.”
Well, that escalated quickly.
