The Biggest Loser has been on for 16 seasons, and Ryan C. Benson, 47, was the first to hold the title for his weight loss from 330 lbs to 208 lbs in season 1. But once the cameras stopped rolling and he wasn’t constantly helped by trainers, he suddenly found himself gaining everything back and more not long after winning TBL. Ten years later, he’s on another weight loss journey, and this time, he’s more motivated than ever!

Weight has always been a struggle for Ryan, a dad of three living in California. He talked to Yahoo Health about his life since The Biggest Loser admitting that he has been “up and down the scale” and that the initial months after winning were some of the toughest. “Once the show was over, I was never able to maintain my ideal weight for more than a few days,” he said. “One thing I didn’t expect when the show ended was that for the next year or so, every time I’d go out to eat, or was in the grocery store, I’d feel like people were watching everything I ate, or watching what I put in my shopping cart.”
