An illegal alien who hit a Texas firefighter head-on and killed him and his four-year-old stepdaughter and 22-month-old son will be charged with criminally negligent homicide if he recovers from his critical injuries.

The man did not have a drivers license and was in the country illegally, according to the CBS affiliate for Dallas/Fort Worth. He first came to the U.S. in 2006 but was deported in 2008.

L.P. Phillips of KRLD radio in Dallas spoke to ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officials who verified that Margarito Quintero was an illegal alien.

Austrian Army And Police Prepare At Border For ‘Worst Case Scenario’ Migrant Invasion

On Thursday members of the Austrian armed forces along with the federal police engaged in an exercise to test their ability to secure the border in case of an emergency. The joint exercise was held at Ferlach, a short distance from the Slovenian border which has seen thousands of migrant crossings after the Hungarian border was closed last year.

The military and police were tested in a number of different scenarios, including one where migrants broke through the border security and attempted to escape into the country, reports Kurier. The aim of the drills is to create a communication and cooperation alliance between the two groups to better coordinate their joint resources in case migrants are able to storm through the Balkan countries.

150 soldiers from the Austrian army and 50 police officers were involved in the operation which also saw 40 soldiers playing the part of migrants. The troops roleplaying illegals were told to try their hardest to cross the border in whatever means they could, and to get away. As the operation progressed the army flew in five helicopters to help locate the fake migrants who had manged to evade the combined force at the border.

Carinthian provincial police director Michaela Kohlweiss and Austrian army commander Walter Gitschthaler said they were satisfied at how the operation progressed and at the ability of the army and police force to act in cooperation with each other. “Each organization involved has its own language and its own tactics in the relatively new situation of assistance operations, it is crucial that we improve cooperation wherever it is possible,” the police director said.

Donald Trump Urges Pause in LEGAL Immigration For One or Two Years

The call may shift the nation’s immigration debate away the emotional — but subsidiary — issue of illegal immigration.

“I’d say a minimum of one year, maybe two years,” Trump said during the debate in Miami, Fla.

“It is very significant that a major presidential candidate has called for a pause in legal immigration,” said Mark Krikorian, the director of the Center for Immigration Studies. “It’s a signal that he’s serious about dealing with high [rates of legal] immigration,” he said.

Legal immigration was sharply cut in 1924 amid political pressure from voters. But it restarted in 1965 during the height of the post-war economic boom when wages were rising, crime was lower and wealth was spread much more evenly.

Currently, the federal government allows 1 million foreign wage-cutting migrants to enter the United States each year, even though 4 million young Americans enter the weak job market each year.

The current population of illegals is roughly 14 million, and rising. But the population of legal immigrants and their children is roughly 45 million, according to a CIS study

Before Trump’s call for a pause, the 2015 and 2016 immigration debate has been focused on the much smaller issue of illegal immigration, which adds a few hundred thousand workers a year to the current population of roughly 14 million illegal migrants.

Immigration surge pushes up Swedish unemployment

Sweden accepted a record 163,000 refugees last year, including almost 80,000 in October and November.

The country expected to see unemployment drop to 6.6 percent by 2017 from 7.5 percent in 2015. However, it is expected to grow again and reach 7.5 percent by 2020. The lowest unemployment level in the EU is now in Germany with 4.5 percent.

Bloomberg quotes a study from the National Audit Office, which showed that only 53 percent of asylum seekers who arrived in 2003 had found jobs by 2013.

“Unemployment is falling quite well for those born in Sweden, who can take advantage of the improvement, but it takes longer for those born abroad, especially those born outside of Europe,” said Wadman.

WILL IMMIGRATION FORCE A CHANGE IN SWEDEN’S LABOR LAWS?

sweden-border1 (1)

The main problem is integration of those who immigrate: they are prohibited to work until their asylum or petition for residency has been approved. In other words, they are a cost in the state’s budget and a burden for taxpayers — often for many years — while bureaucrats process their application. Another effect of this is that immigrants aren’t integrated into Swedish society, since they’re effectively kept out of interacting with “ethnic Swedes” through the normal meeting places: school, the workplace, the commute, and so on.

IMMIGRATION OFFICIALS PROHIBITED FROM LOOKING AT VISA APPLICANTS’ SOCIAL MEDIA

Immigration officials prohibited from looking at visa applicants' social media

Johnson decided to keep the prohibition in place in early 2014 because he feared a civil liberties backlash and “bad public relations,” according to ABC.

“During that time period immigration officials were not allowed to use or review social media as part of the screening process,” John Cohen, a former acting undersecretary at the Department of Homeland Security for intelligence and analysis, told ABC News.
