Before Selena Gomez, 23, became the sexy starlet she is today, she was a Disney darling with a purity ring. The “Good For You” singer opened up about wearing a chastity ring while dating Nick Jonas, 22, who also wore one at the time. Selena admitted that her purity ring days are definitely behind her, noting that her values have changed.
When asked about the chastity ring in an interview with The Sunday Times,
Selena said she isn’t embarrassed to admit that during her relationship with Nick, she wore the ring that symbolized her decision not to have sex until she was married. “I’m not embarrassed to say that,” Selena said. “I’m also not embarrassed to say that the ring has come off. I got it when I was 13 and I respect so much what it represented, but it isn’t for everyone.”

During the time Selly wore the ring, she explained that she was made fun of. “Sometimes you have to lie to yourself to get through the criticism, and then you’re in your closet crying. It has been like that for me a couple of times, but I only want to learn from those things.” Good for you, Selena!
