OBAMA TO IGNORE SUPREME COURT: I’M STILL NOT DEPORTING ILLEGALS

President Obama made it “very clear” that deporting illegal immigrants is not a priority of his administration, despite the Supreme Court upholding an injunction on Obama’s 2014 Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents policy.

SALMAN RUSHDIE: IT’S MISTAKE FOR OBAMA NOT TO CALL IT ‘ISLAMIC TERRORISM’

2-18-16-obama (1)

It’s a mistake that the president is making to not use the term Islamic terrorism,” Rushdie said Wednesday during a question-and-answer session hosted by New York University’s Washington, D.C. Academic Center.

Rushdie was responding to a question from an audience member on whether he had changed his views since he had written a 2001 New York Times opinion piece entitled Yes, This Is About Islam.

The answer is, no, they haven’t changed,” Rushdie said. “And I think, actually think it’s a mistake that the president is making to not use the term Islamic terrorism.”

“Because, of course, it’s not what a majority of Muslims would think or want,” Rushdie explained. “Of course, it’s a freakish manifestation that has grown up inside Islam. But to say that it’s not about Islam denies what the killers themselves always say.”

REPORT: OBAMA ADMIN’S EFFORT TO ‘ELIMINATE RED TAPE’ ADDS $16 BILLION IN COSTS

SadObama

President Obama signed executive orders (13,563 and 13,610) as part of an effort to ‘eliminate red tape.’ Federal agencies were told to ‘modify, streamline expand, or repeal’ existing regulations,” according to the report released by AAF, a center-right nonprofit led by Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former director of the Congressional Budget Office.

The American Action Forum has found the reviews consist mostly of recycled regulations by federal agencies that have actually increased regulatory costs.

“The recent ‘retrospective reports’ from the administration reveal that executive agencies have added more than $16 billion in regulatory costs, up from $14.7 billion in the previous update, and 6.5 million paperwork hours,” the report said.

President Obama Wants a Back Door on Your Phone. But Not on His.

obamaphone2

In yesterday’s South by Southwest keynote address, President Obama took a firm stand against strong encryption. Standing before an audience of over two thousand technology enthusiasts, Obama explained why the government needs back door access to all personal communication devices.

If it was technologically possible to make an impenetrable device where there’s no door at all, then how do we apprehend the child pornographer? How do we disrupt a terrorist plot? How do we even do a simple thing like tax enforcement? If government can’t get in, then everyone’s walking around with a Swiss bank account in their pocket. There has to be some concession to get into that information somewhere.

Obama didn’t specifically discuss Apple’s case with the FBI, though the inference is clear. The president is not content with unlocking the individual phones of suspected criminals. He’s asking for specific security protections to be permanently removed from all electronic devices. Because terrorists, child pornographers, and tax dodgers exist, no private citizen should have the right to secure communications.

SEN. MCCAIN FURIOUS IRAN TREATED US SAILORS WELL

mccain-riverine-tile

Thanks to President Obama’s policy shift on Iran toward engagement and away from isolationism, Secretary of State John Kerry was able to telephone his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Zarif and quickly defuse what just months ago would have been a far more serious situation.

This should be a good-news story about the value of diplomacy and reducing tensions with adversaries, but Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) was having none of it. That Kerry expressed his appreciation to the Iranians for swiftly releasing the American sailors only showed the Obama Administration’s “craven desire to preserve the dangerous Iranian nuclear deal at all costs evidently knows no limit,” said McCain in a press release.

PRESIDENT OBAMA AIMS TO PUSH GUN RESTRICTIONS THROUGH WITHOUT CONGRESS

obama-contest13

Disgusted by Congress’ failure to pass even the most basic gun control measures, Obama is set to review in “weeks not months” a plan to impose firearm restrictions that won’t require legislation from Capitol Hill.

Gun violence is “probably the issue that has touched him most personally over the course of his presidency,” White House communications director Jen Psaki told Bloomberg News Friday.

The President, Psaki added, “will not be satisfied” without action by the end of his term.
