During last night’s democratic debate we were once again inundated with calls from politicians that a compromise was being sought between government leaders and Silicon Valley as it related to the battle on encryption.

Arguments from government leaders echo previous sentiments regarding the dangerous world we live in. The reason for danger, or so it goes, is the inability of law enforcement to pursue threats from terrorists, both domestic and international, who are increasingly reliant on encryption to communicate.

The sentiment is true, albeit misguided, but more on that in a moment.

Currently, the argument is painted as black and white, a “you’re either for us, or against us” exchange that leads typical Americans scratching their collective heads wondering why Silicon Valley isn’t stepping up the fight against terrorism by cooperating with government.

Traders clearly aren’t happy with the move, real or not, to abandon 140 characters in favor of allowing people to type messages 1.5 times longer than America’s Declaration of Independence

While Dorsey has been trying to appease the army of developers who abandoned the social network after it changed its API access four years ago the company’s stock price has been tumbling.

NASA’s bringing space to your living room with new 4K TV channel

NASA has announced that it’s launching a new 4K television channel in November that will stream ultra-high definition (UHD) footage from the International Space Station and other missions.

Teaming up with Harmonic, a company that specializes in video delivery infrastructure, NASA says it will be the first “non-commercial consumer ultra-high definition channel in North America.”
